From the initial sketch to the final artworks, the photostory!

Hi,
today I want to share my way to make a design for a greeting card.
Before starting the photostory I want to say that this is my "personal way", the one I find more comfortable to work with.
I use it every where, there is not the needs of special tools.

I decide to make a "cats in  love card".

Thought to use for wedding wishes or cats lovers invitations or stationary.

1) I use to doodle and sketch my ideas on a sketchbook that I carry always with me. (You never know when you will be inspired!)

2) Now I can outline my sketch on a piece of translucent paper with a fine line marker. Using a soft pencil I cover  the back surface of the translucent paper.

3)I can trace the outline of my draw  using the translucent paper with the pencil face on watercolour paper. Next step is follow the outline you did on watercolour paper with a fine line marker. In this case I used a Faber Castell Fine line Marker - point 0.4-
and a Copic multiliner marker 0.05.

4)Let dry really well the marker and clean your artwork with a soft eraser (like the one on the picture, that we call gomma-pane )

5)Finally it's coloring time!!!
I chose to use my loved Copic Markers. For me they can make the difference on the results.
So simple to use and you can work really everywhere , as I did on a coffee shop table.

Fall in Love the remake...with Copic markers

Today,
I tried to recolor using Copic markers one of my favorite pieces named "Fall in Love" .
The result, with Copic.....
I think, is a rich and full texture, the colors are vibrant. Maybe I need to try different colors combination but I confirm that the new love is named Copic Markers

Really, everytime that I watch this watercolour capture me, with few brush touches is pure light and sentiment (love!) .

Fall in Love ----original version ------cc Deborah Faenza watercolour  and chine---

but,  I want try to make something different, a kind of vintage version on it.
Sometimes look at the past is so inspiring!
I love the heavy wool look of the pants of the boy.  Can I almost feel the warm of his handmade scarf.....same feelings for the girl sunny coat!

Love in a teacup

Love in a teacup---Save the Date

Love in a teacup, my last work,
I like the idea of a tiny space, as a teacup, were you can share your things with the loved one.
The love is there...what else!!!

Copic mon amour

(mouse right clic, save on your computer, print)

Hello, how are you?
here almost ready for the start of the autumn activities , school, sports and those afternoons spent sipping hot tea.
Thinking about all those breezy afternoons I drew this little girl, isn't she pretty?
I also used my new beloved Copic markers as a media for this design . I think the effect is really interesting .... don't you?

See you soon my hot tea and Copic are waiting for me.
